YAY!! I woke up this morning to the mail being delivered and with it came 4 different envelops containing new coupons. So I think it's time to find out where all these coupons come from.
There are several great, easy places where you can find new coupons, first we'll talk about the online mail-out coupons.
1) Online Mail-Out Coupon Services
There are several fantastic savings sites online. My two personal favourites are;
- https://www.websaver.ca/en_ca/
-http://www.brandsaver.ca/en_ca/
These two sites seem to offer the highest value coupons, for everyday products that I use. Two other sites where I often find coupons are;
- http://www.gocoupons.ca/
- http://save.ca/coupons
A few important things to note with these services are that aside from save.ca, the others all have a minimum coupon order. For brandsaver.ca, for example, you have to have a minimum of four coupons selected before they will mail them out to you. It definitely makes sense that they do this, however, it can be completely frustrating, when you've ordered all the coupons from their site, and then 1 new one becomes available, and now you can't order it! RATS!
Obviously, you have to create an account to have these coupons mailed to you, but the great thing is that this is absolutely, 100% FREE! Websaver.ca even donates some money to charity if you redeem all the coupons you ordered. Doesn't that make you feel great? Not only are you saving money for you and your family, but your also helping someone else. WIN WIN!
2) Printable Coupons
Printable coupons are a great way to start saving money today. There's no waiting. If it's your first time printing coupons you will have to download the coupon printer, which makes sure that the barcodes come out right. The sites where you find most printable coupons have that softwear available, so you don't have to go hunting for it. The two great sites that I use for printable coupons are;
- http://www.livingwell.ca/coupons
- http://www.smartsource.ca/smartsource/index.jsp?Link=VV3BTXLWNQYWS&locale=en_CA
These two sites offer many many printable coupons for everyday things. However, be careful to only print the ones you think you will use. If you constantly go and print them all and don't use them, then you are going to find that you've spent 100$ on ink this month, and didn't redeem any of those savings.
Printable coupons can be found almost anywhere. Not just through these two sites. What my boyfriend and I have taken to doing, is performing a quick search for printable coupons once we've compiled our grocery list. You can often find printable coupons on many manufacturer's websites OR through facebook. What sucks about the facebook coupons is that you always have to "like" their page before you can print the coupon, and then you end up with tons of junk in your news feed. Annoying? Yes. Worth it? Sometimes. Again, only go for these if you know you are going to use them.
The last trick with printable coupons is making sure your store accepts them. Try to print them in colour when you can as then they don't appear photocopied. Stores like Walmart and Shopper's Drug Mart are great for accepting printed coupons. If you are using them somewhere else, it might be wise to take a few minutes and either look up the store's policy or speak with an employee.
3) Insert Coupons
Now this truly sucks for those of us in small towns. Some of the best coupons are found in inserts found in your newspaper. They aren't released everyday, usually only once a month, but if you are able to get your hands on a newspaper with these inserts it's usually worth the cost of the paper. They can be found in almost every major newspaper in Canada. The main ones you will find are;
- Smartsouce
- Redplum
- Brandsaver
If you can get your hands on these, you'll be rolling in coupons. My boyfriend sent an email to our local Swift Current paper to ask if they can ever be found in the Southwest Booster. He got the response "sometimes". Well that sucks, but I riffle through our fliers and newspaper every week just to make sure.
4) Mail-in Rebate, Package Coupons & Tearpads
This is the final segment of where to find coupons. These all occur randomly, but you can find some great deals. Sometimes you will find mail-in rebate coupons and they are almost always worth taking the time to mail in.
Package Coupons, I don't find alot, but brands like Kellogg's often have them on or inside their boxes. It's worth taking a quick once over of your products to make sure you aren't missing any package coupons.
Finally tearpads. These are found randomly around your stores. It is bad coupon etiquette, I've discovered, to be the jerk who takes the whole pad. But taking a couple can be a great way to save some money if you use the product they are advertising.
Have you ever had negative or positive experiences with any of these coupon services/sites? Or any questions on finding coupons? Did you find this helpful? Let me know!
